Brassica Progress - Spring to Summer
Hello everyone!
We are back with another status update! We apologise for the radio silence. It has been a busy couple months for each of us. And yet we have made some steady progress on Brassica. The writing has come along beautifully and visual assets are taking shape.
We experienced a little boost in spring, thanks to an adjustment to our work approach. Despite our busy schedules we’ve set a weekly time window for co-working on Brassica, replacing our weekly meetings which were mostly spent on problem solving and story development (or…scope expansion) and shifting our focus to get stuff done!
The change has been a boon to our productivity and attitude towards our craft. In addition, it’s inspiring to know our dedication could break the limits of two entirely different sleep schedules, just so we could sit in productive silence together on Thursday mornings.
This worked out until the middle of May. When a big change was going to turn our work schedule upside down and much more than that, really. We needed to calm down a couple weeks, picked up again mid June and re-adjusted to Monday co-working times with a 7 hour time difference between each of us. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What we are working on right now
Because Felix is literally living on an island now, their current workstation is only a notebook. Thrifty as they are, they have switched their work priorities to writing and programming. Audio and UI work will have to wait until they are decked out in better equipment.
Prior to their intercontinental move, Felix has planned ahead and made much progress on the music production and UI design. The UI is getting an overhaul and it’s going to be prettier and more dynamic than what’s in the public build so far.
Rohan has been drawing on and off, as much as his energy and schedule allowed. Assets are are being worked off and he is aiming to finish all assets for Act III (part 1) by autumn.
Just to remind you, Act III, part 1, is longer than Act II and a conclusive story segment on its own. In terms of writing and, well, everything. It’s going to be a satisfying release when it’s out. (´-ω-`)
